At the time of writing we have not been made aware of any further confirmed cases on Covid-19 at Condado. It is of course possible there are other cases we are not aware of.

As you are probably aware, last Saturday the national government extended the state of alarm for another 15 days until the 26thApril. However, they proposed to remove the bar on what were classed as non-essential services being provided and, if this is confirmed tomorrow at the national congress, STV will resume normal services at Condado from Saturday. Any owner who does not want STV to enter their private gardens during the state of alarm should inform Admiburgos.

Cable Murcia continue to operate as normal and Admiburgos are working remotely but providing cover 6 days a week (Monday – Saturday) plus their normal 24 hour emergency cover.

During this time and until at least the 26thApril Security will be operating a stop and search policy at the main entrance gate to ensure those traveling have a valid reason for travelling here and to stop those trying to come to their second homes for the Easter holidays. It is not permitted to travel to Condado de Alhama unless it is your primary home or place of work.

Security staff continue to liaise with the local police and Guardia Civil in dealing with breaches of the lockdown.

There are reports of a small number of people using social media to increase worry and cause ill feeling within our great resort. I urge all not to take notice of this and stick to official information.

We remind all residents that they should remain in their properties unless travel is urgent. For an urbanization under lock-down there are still numerous cars driving through the security entrance each day. This is being monitored by security and the local police and action taken against individuals where necessary who cannot justify their travel.

The management board, administration, security and other service providers are meeting regularly to ensure that Condado keeps up with the ever-changing situation, so we can maintain the safety and security of the resort.

We thank our security team who are working hard during this time.

Security staff continue to liaise with the local police and Guardia Civil in dealing with breaches of the lockdown. Owners may be aware of local press coverage of such an incident concerning two people driving on the resort recently. Our security stopped them, sent them back to their apartment and reported them to the police who attended and are now dealing with this breach of the Royal Decree.

Due to the information being posted by various public sources on this conflicting with the report from our own security, particularly about the occupants of the vehicle and therefore the number of people who are confirmed to have contracted the virus on the resort, the board and administration have been working tirelessly to establish the correct information for owners and residents. At this time we can confirm we still have only been made aware of two positive cases affecting site residents. Of course it is quite possible that there are others we are not aware of.

We make every effort to ensure that what we publish is factually correct at the time of publishing and that is particularly important in these difficult times. The situation changes rapidly and it can be difficult to keep on top of everything. We urge all owners to continue to comply with the restrictions issued by the government. At the time of writing it looks likely that an extension to the current lockdown will be approved next week by parliament.

This general coronavirus news item will be updated twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Any critical items specific to Condado will be issued by newsletter as soon as the information is verified.

The next update to this news item is due on Tuesday 7 April.
