There are currently 5 broken underground containers in the Community, one on Naranjos (Calle Abderramán) and four on Jardines (Jardín 2, Jardín 5, Jardín 7 and Jardín 12); the breaks are basically due to them being in use for over 10 years, and it is very expensive to repair them.
The Urban Entity had already started to draw up a plan for the repair of these and those that might break in the future. However, at the beginning of the year, when we found out that the Council would take on the waste collection service (this issue had already been explained to owners in the General Meetings), this plan was stopped, as for the time being, the Council has not confirmed whether it will maintain the service using underground containers or whether it will put them all on the surface.
For the time being, in order to seek a short-term solution, the broken underground containers without lids have been replaced by containers with lids in order to try to minimise the problems caused by these containers when they are on the surface.
The aim of the Urban Entity is to maintain the underground containers, therefore we have informed and will continue to inform the Council of this, but until the Council confirms whether they will carry out this service with underground or surface bins. The underground bins will be repaired so we can demonstrate that they are all in working order
