News: WHAT'S APP FOR SECURITY

There were a number of situations during the summer months when some residents/visitors were unable to contact security via telephone due to restrictions on mobile phone calls for non-EU users.

Following discussion with Grupo it was agreed that What’s App should be introduced to provide another means of contacting security staff (most people have access to wifi in their apartment or in public zones).

From 1 January 2023 it will be possible to use What’s App in order to contact security using either a call or a message. One advantage of using What’s App is that photographs relating to an incident can also be sent directly to security, however you should be aware that it is against the law in Spain for people to be photographed without their consent. This does not prevent the taking of photographs of animals or vehicles or buildings if they are directly related to a security incident.

If this system is abused in any way, then the person making inappropriate contact risks having their number blocked from the security mobile phone and they will have to contact security via the landline as an alternative.
