News: security update 21-06-2024
Pedestrian access control, La Isla
In accordance with the wishes of owners at this year’s AGM, a new pedestrian control system will be trialled on La Isla during the busier months this summer. The pedestrian footpath on the north side of the bridge will be closed and the only pedestrian entrance and exit to La Isla will be via the footpath in front of La Isla security.
Anyone attempting to enter La Isla on foot who is not know to the security staff will be stopped and questioned by the vigilant on duty. Anyone who is either not an owner on Condado or is not visiting someone staying on La Isla will not be allowed entry. In cases where people are visiting someone and the vigilant is unsure as to the veracity of what they are saying, they will be asked to wait at the entrance and to call the person they are visiting so that they can come to the gate to escort them onto the island.
This system will be monitored daily and reviewed at the end of each month.
This will be rolled out to the main gate after the summer, but was not possible to introduce this on the main gate in the time available before the summer.
Additional security staff for the summer period
As per previous years, additional security staff are being recruited to help manage the influx of people and vehicles onto Condado during the summer. Two additional vigilants will commence on Monday 17 June, covering the swimming pools and assisting in the access control at the main gate. Three more vigilants will join them on 1 July, providing a further mobile patrol, a further foot patrol and an additional vigilant on La Isla to monitor the CCTV.
People are reminded that if they see anything suspicious or are disturbed by the behaviour of others on the resort, then please contact security by calling 0034 968 328 027 landline/fixed or 0034 633 966 491 (mobile - WhatsApp). They are there to help.
Awards for Condado Security Vigilants
The new security company Vigilant was assessed as performing well during their first quarterly review in April and have continued to support the community well, with positive feedback being received from owners. In addition to this, the work of two of our long-standing vigilants, José Lopez Valverde (Team leader) and José Antonio Lopez Orcoyen has been recognised by the Spanish National Police and last month they both received awards for their co-operaton and assistance in investigations carried out in Condado de Alhama. On behalf of the Security Committee I would like to thank them for their ongoing work to make Condado a safe play to live and visit.
Security Alarm Offer
The security company Vigilant has a free subscription offer for their alarm system for all owners on Condado who are not in debt.
The monthly subscription for the alarm system, which will be connected to Vigilant headquarters, is completely free (whilst Vigilant is the security provider on site). If there is no ethernet connection available then a sim card would need to be utilised and this would cost €6 per month plus IVA.
Owners would purchase the alarm system outright (the basic system costs €699 plus IVA) and will need to pay the annual service charge (required by law) of €50 +IVA per annum.
The basic system consists of:
1 wireless infrared detector
1 wireless keypad and internal siren
1 radio control panel
2 wireless infrared camera detectors
In addition to the basic alarm system, the company also offers an emergency push button system which also detects inactivity, again connected directly to the security company. This costs €90 plus IVA with a monthly charge of €12 plus IVA.
The company has sales representatives who are fluent in English. If you are interested in finding out more about this offer, please contact the company by telephone on 0034 968 805 831 or by email atcomercial@grupovigilant.com
