News: ORNAMENTAL LAKE UPDATE 10/04/2025

After several meetings and negotiations between the Town Hall of Alhama de Murcia and the Urbanistic Entity of Conservation of Condado de Alhama, the Urbanistic Entity has taken the decision to proceed with the cleaning of the ornamental lake of the Island adviced by the municipal technicians. The cleaning will begin between the 5th and 10th of May, in the areas closest to the swimming pools located next to the lake. The estimated duration of the work is 4 weeks.

In addition, as part of this process, the Urban Development Entity contracted the services of a specialised environmental engineering company, who have carried out an exhaustive analysis and have provided a series of recommendations to improve the state of the lake and ensure its proper maintenance in the long term.

At the next General Assembly of the Urban Development Entity, a detailed plan will be presented with all the improvements to be carried out, based on the recommendations of the experts. This plan will include both immediate actions and proposals for future maintenance to ensure that the lake remains a pleasant and safe space for all. Among the measures to be implemented are aeration, oxygenation and the removal of carp from the irrigation lake, all of which have a direct impact on improving water quality.
