News: Jardines II - Solar spotlights

28 May 2025 - Web Master

Dear owners,

Recently, a set of solar lights have been installed in different locations of Jardines 2, in order to comply with the vote of the owners in the 2024 assembly, which resulted in 130 votes in favor, 14 votes against and 20 abstentions in the implementation of this project.

This initiative started in 2023, when it was decided to install a few solar lights in some of the side and interior corridors of our community, as a pilot test to assess the results.

This installation pursues several objectives, the first and most important of all is to go a step further in economic savings in terms of electricity consumption costs, leading us to disconnect a series of light bollards in those places where the lighting of solar lamps proves to be sufficient to illuminate these areas during most of the night hours.

Another objective is to be able to have a series of light bollards in reserve (those that are finally decided to be disconnected) in case of the extreme need of having to replace bollards that are very deteriorated and broken, which can no longer be repaired or patched, until a more ambitious project to replace all the current bollards with a new and more efficient model can be undertaken in the future.

Finally, the extra light from the solar lights will improve the security level of the video surveillance cameras at night, as there are currently areas in the community gardens and some side corridors where the vision is very poor and therefore the quality of the cameras is not ideal. More security will also be provided in the children's play areas and surrounding areas, with the placement of one solar spotlight per garden.

Having said all this, during the next few months we will be observing the results of these solar lights, their operation, the orientation of the light bulb to avoid, as far as possible, disturbing the private properties of the neighbors, the possible excess of light in certain specific areas, and in general any incident that needs to be solved, or modifications to be made to improve the performance of the system. In this sense it is important that you, the neighbors of all Jardines 2, report any need or inconvenience in order to find the best way to correct it.

We insist on the need to inform each garden president of the vicissitudes encountered, in order to adjust, expand or reduce the solar panels in the different areas of each garden, and thus improve safety, reducing electricity consumption.

We appreciate your collaboration to improve the economic savings in Jardines 2, while reinforcing the safety and well-being of our community.

Yours sincerely, with best regards.

Juan Manuel. President of Jardines 2.
