News: CURRENT SITUATION REGARDING THE REQUEST FOR INFORMATION FROM THE DEVELOPERS IN CONDADO DE ALHAMA
Dear residents of Condado de Alhama,
Through this notice from the Urban Conservation Entity of Condado de Alhama, we wish to inform you that a burofax was recently sent to the three developers currently operating within Condado de Alhama (Alhama Nature, Orbesol and Oriol), requesting detailed information on the current status of their ongoing projects and their future plans. The purpose of this request was to be able to provide detailed, accurate, and timely information about these projects and plans, their impact on our community, and the overall urban development, so that all of us, as residents of Condado de Alhama, could be fully informed.
As things stand, ONLY Alhama Nature has responded to this request, stating the following:
“We are contacting you in response to the burofax sent by the President of the Urban Conservation Entity.
In relation to your communication, we wish to inform you that the works currently being carried out are taking place entirely on privately owned plots and have the corresponding mandatory administrative licences and authorisations.
As we have reiterated on previous occasions, we are fully available to hold a meeting, including the possibility of scheduling regular meetings. For this purpose, we propose Friday, 10 April, which may take place either in person or by videoconference, whichever is most convenient for you.
At this meeting we will be able to provide information, including that related to the planning and coordination of the works insofar as they may affect roads, networks or shared services.”
Therefore, we still do not have the requested information in writing and are awaiting what may occur should such a meeting with Alhama Nature take place.
At this point, we must state that information regarding their projects and plans had already been requested on several occasions from the developer ALHAMA NATURE, and we even met with some of their representatives prior to the last general assemblies. On that occasion, they committed to attending the Urban Entity’s information assembly held on 13 March in order to explain the matters requested. This did not take place, nor were any explanations given afterwards regarding their deliberate absence from that information assembly, nor was any of the repeatedly requested information provided.
Currently, and to our knowledge, NO ONE has contacted the neighbours of the two Penthouse blocks located opposite the works for the two football pitches planned by this company. These works are being carried out just a few metres from these homes, causing considerable concern among the owners, who have no information about the project, the progress of the works, or the final outcome planned.
Recently, representatives of the Urban Entity, the Board of Directors of Level 1, and the Councillor for Urban Planning of the Alhama de Murcia Town Council visited the area of these Penthouses. We inspected the state of the works on site and spoke with some of the local residents, informing them that we were taking action to obtain the necessary information that the developer ALHAMA NATURE continues to deny to the residents of Condado de Alhama.
Some may argue that developers are under no obligation to provide information about their projects and plans beyond the general publicity that can be consulted in communications from the Alhama Town Council or in the companies’ own commercial advertising, and indeed that may be the case. The question is whether this is the attitude and information policy that these companies wish to apply towards all property owners and residents of Condado de Alhama, and whether this will be the level of commitment and trust shown towards our Community.
In light of all of the above, the Urban Entity wishes to convey to all of you our firm commitment to our neighbours, especially those affected by the works on the football pitches, as well as our support for any reasonable initiative aimed at demanding detailed information about what is happening on the land located within our Community.
We will continue to insist on this matter.
