CONDADO DE ALHAMA SECURITY COMMITTEE

OFFICIAL STATEMENT. OCTOBER 2026

RESPECT, SUPPORT FOR SECURITY PERSONNEL, AND COOPERATION AT ACCESS CONTROL POINTS

Dear residents of Condado de Alhama,

The Condado de Alhama Owners' Community wishes to express its concern regarding an incident that took place on the morning of October 15th at the Cañada Sur access control point, in which, according to available information, an individual allegedly subjected a security guard to both verbal and physical assault while the guard was performing his duties.

Following the incident, the Guardia Civil and medical services—including an ambulance—were notified to address the situation and ensure the events were officially recorded through the appropriate channels.

We would like to remind everyone that security personnel perform an essential role in the operation of Condado de Alhama. Their duties are carried out within the framework of Spanish regulations governing private security, as well as established operational procedures, with the goal of contributing to the safety, harmonious coexistence, and well-being of the entire community.

Any disagreements, questions, or complaints regarding the actions of security staff should be raised through the proper channels and in a respectful manner. No circumstance justifies the use of insults, threats, or acts of aggression against these workers. Physical violence is a particularly serious matter and is absolutely unacceptable.

It is also important to explain the circumstances under which services are being provided at the Cañada Sur access control point—the primary entry point staffed by security personnel at Condado de Alhama. This access point handles a high volume of activity, requiring the simultaneous management of numerous tasks.

From September to June, the standard staffing level consists of a single security guard dedicated to access control, alongside one patrol guard for the entire residential complex. Consequently, the guard at the access point must single-handedly manage entries and exits, address any incidents that arise, and attend to other operational requirements.

Furthermore, on several recent occasions, the access barriers for residents and the exit barriers have sustained damage caused by various types of heavy vehicles. These incidents have temporarily disabled parts of the access system and increased the complexity of traffic management. Efforts are currently underway to repair and restore the affected barriers as quickly as possible.

Furthermore, in order to prevent or mitigate—as much as possible—further incidents, the additional workload placed on the sole access-control vigilant, and potential delays for those entering Condado via the CAÑADAS SUR access point, we have informed the various construction companies and developers that heavy construction vehicles and large vehicles—such as buses—must enter and exit Condado through other access gates. We hope that these measures will ease the flow of traffic for residents using the main CAÑADAS SUR entrance and exit, thereby preventing further incidents involving heavy vehicles at that location.

While these issues are being resolved, there may be wait times or queues at certain moments. We therefore ask residents and visitors for their patience and understanding. There is only one security guard on duty at the checkpoint, who must manage the situation as best as possible and with the utmost diligence. Any delays should not be interpreted as a lack of willingness or attentiveness on the part of the staff member; rather, they should be viewed in the context of the available resources and the issues currently being addressed.

Although we hope that situations of this nature remain rare, it is important that we, as a community, maintain a firm and unified stance against any form of violent behavior. Security personnel deserve consideration, respect, and the support of residents as they carry out their duties.

We call upon all owners and residents to help maintain an environment of harmonious coexistence, cooperation, and mutual respect; to follow the instructions of the security staff; and to report any incidents through the established channels—never resorting to intimidation or violence.

The safety and well-being of Condado de Alhama are a shared responsibility. We thank the security staff for their work and dedication, and we extend our full support to the affected security guard, wishing him a speedy recovery.

Sincerely, please accept our best regards.

Condado de Alhama Security Committee.
